Remembering and Sharing Baby’s First Steps

Every memory is precious, but some milestone moments beg to be recorded and shared.

When your baby took her first steps, did you immediately grab your video camera? What happened later to that footage? Did it sit on an old video cassette tape in a cupboard like mine?

Thankfully, YesVideo brought the memory of Julia’s first steps back to life from the miniDV cassette where it was stuck.

Now not only can Julia and her little sister Sophia watch it anytime on my computer, I can easily share it with all our family and friends online.

Watching those steps and seeing her baby fingers grab at the camera is priceless. Julia took her time getting around to crawling but started to walk soon after her first birthday. It was wonderful to have her learning to walk and drive her little ride-on-toys in the beautiful summer weather.

While these days I quickly shoot videos on my iphone, our older memories are forgotten on outdated technology.

Our videos of Jackson and Julia are all on miniDV cassettes and I haven’t ever watched them. They’ve been collecting dust in a cupboard.

So far I’ve had YesVideo converted two of the tapes and put them online for me to easily watch and share.

I will definitely be getting more tapes transferred soon!

  5. Those are the memories that you’ll treasure forever! There wasn’t a video camera in every house when my daughter took her first steps so it really is a treasure. Brought back so many memories! xo
