Seasons of Life

It is true that each person has a story waiting to be told. “To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven: a time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up (harvest) that which is planted…” As I am preparing for my family to move overseas, I am selling things around the house, going through boxes and seeing what we want to keep and things we want to give away. I realized that this season of my life is not just about preparation but also a time for reflection on the memories of my family.

The day that I first became a mom.

The moment my son took his first step.

The day you waved goodbye to my child at their first day of school. The love and joy surrounding me at the wedding of my dreams.

Traditionally, you would have to box up these memories and occasionally open those boxes when their was a family reunion or a loss of a loved one. Fortunately, this is no longer true thanks to technology and the passion of the people at YesVideo, who had the dream that sharing these memories is possible with your family and friends online from emails to social networks and in your home on DVDs or on your laptop at a local coffee house. I cannot express how much this service has meant to my family, as we reflect in the season of our lives. My kids laugh at themselves from when they were younger, and my husband and I tear up as we remember the “good ol’ days“.

I am not sure what season you are in your life, but as Summer approaches. I encourage you to go through some of your boxes in the closet or in the attic. Clean through the memories and consider preserving memories with YesVideo, and tell your story with your friends and family. It is as simple as mailing your VHS tapes and photos, so YesVideo can create a real-world keepsake. Keep your most treasured memories alive and remember that you have a story waiting to be told.

  8. I love this way to save videos in a way that they will actually get used! I have hundreds of them but they are so inconvenient to actually gather and watch that they sit unwatched.

I’m sure there are many VHS movies, too! This would be such a fantastic service to take advantage of to preserve those memories :)
